Your workroom, behind your name

Dylberry Design is a family upholstery and restoration workshop in Eltham North. We make and re-cover to your spec, in your fabric, to a finish you can put your name on. You keep the client. We stay behind the scenes.

Where we sit

High-end finish, honest price

We are not the cheapest workroom in Melbourne and we are not the most expensive. We sit in the honest middle: the detail and hand-finish of a high-end workroom, priced so the numbers still work on your project. Between the three of us on the floor there is around a hundred years of upholstery, machining and French polishing, and it shows in the corners, the seams and the parts of the job nobody sees until you look for them.

Detail obsessed

Pattern-matched seams, hand-tied 9-way sprung seats where the piece deserves it, clean rails and tidy undersides. The back of the piece is finished like the front.

Trade materials

Dunlop HR35 foam as standard, 200 firm or 165 medium, with a 10 year foam warranty. Fire-grade foam for commercial specs. Your fabric or ours.

Built to last

We re-cover over existing frames wherever the bones are good, and back our frame work with a 30 year guarantee. Your client keeps the piece they love.

Questions designers ask

Trade FAQ

Can we supply our own fabric?

Yes, most of our trade work is COM. Send the fabric to the workshop or have your supplier deliver direct. We flag quantity and any rub-count or direction concerns before we cut.

What are your lead times?

Quoted honestly per job and held. Single pieces typically run one to two weeks in the workshop; larger fit-out packages are staged around your program. Rush pieces are sometimes possible, ask.

Do you do commercial-compliance work?

Yes. Fire-grade foam and commercial-grade coverings on request for hospitality, office and aged-care specs.

Where are you and where do you service?

The workshop is in Eltham North, and we pick up and deliver across Melbourne, the Yarra Valley, the Mornington Peninsula and the Macedon Ranges.
