Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we store it and who helps us handle it. We aim to comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It is written in plain English, not legal jargon.

In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Dylberry Design, based in 18 Casuarina Ridge, Eltham North VIC 3095. "You" means anyone who contacts us or uses our website at dylberrydesign.com.

What we collect

We only collect the information we need to respond to you and provide our services. That is usually:

• Your name, so we know who we are talking to.
• Your email address, so we can send you a quote and reply to your enquiry.
• Your phone number, if you give it to us, so we can call you about your piece.
• Photos you submit through our quote form, so we can assess your furniture and give you an accurate price.
• Anything you tell us in your message, such as a description of the piece and what you would like done.

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive information such as government identifiers, health information or payment card numbers through the website. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

How we collect it

We collect this information directly from you, in the ways you would expect:

• Through the quote form on our website, including any photos you choose to upload.
• When you contact us directly by email or phone to make an enquiry.

We do not buy personal information from third parties, and we do not collect it in hidden or unexpected ways.

Why we use it

We use your information only for the reasons you gave it to us:

• To respond to your enquiry and answer your questions.
• To prepare and send you a quote.
• To carry out the work you engage us for, and to arrange pickup, delivery and payment.
• To keep a simple record of jobs so we can help you again in future.

How it is stored, and who helps us

Dylberry Design is a small workshop, so we rely on a few trusted service providers to run the website and manage enquiries. Each of them only handles the information needed for their part of the job:

• Netlify hosts our website and processes some form submissions. Your enquiry details pass through Netlify when you use the site.
• Google Workspace, Google Sheets and Google Drive. An automation script sends your quote enquiry, including any photos, into our Google account so we can read it, reply to you and keep a record. Enquiries are logged to a Google Sheet and photos are stored in Google Drive.
• Metricool helps us schedule and manage our social media posts. It handles our public content, not your quote enquiries, and does not receive the personal details you send through the quote form.

These providers store data on secure servers, some of which may be located overseas. We keep your information only for as long as we reasonably need it to serve you and to meet our record-keeping obligations, and we take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and roughly where visitors come from. This helps us improve the site. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information in an aggregated way. It does not tell us who you are personally, and we do not use it to identify individual visitors.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Doing so will not stop you from using the site or getting a quote.

We do not sell your information

We never sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not share it with anyone except the service providers listed above who help us run the business, and only so they can do that work. We may disclose information if the law requires us to, but that is all.

Accessing, correcting or deleting your data

The information is yours. At any time you can:

• Ask what we hold about you and request a copy of it.
• Correct anything that is out of date or wrong.
• Ask us to delete your information, including any photos you sent, unless we are required to keep it for a genuine business or legal reason.

Just email or call us using the details below and we will take care of it. There is no charge for a reasonable request, and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Making a complaint

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first. We take privacy seriously and will do our best to put things right quickly.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), the national privacy regulator, at oaic.gov.au or by phone on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our tools or practices change. The current version, with its "last updated" date, will always be the one published on this page.
