Project · Natuzzi lounge, 20 years old

Sagging seats, dog scratches: a much-loved Natuzzi, brought back

The frame was still perfect, so we rewebbed the seats and backs, fitted new high density foam and touched up the leather by hand. Saved, not replaced.

Project · Moran Chesterfield, 30 years old

Thirty-year-old Moran cushions, remade to go again

The seat leather had worn through and the foam had gone soft, so we remade the cushions in a Tasman rub off leather with fresh high density foam inside. Good for another thirty years.

Project · Veneto Club, Bulleen

A venue banquette recovered without missing a service

Measured on site, cut and sewn in the workshop, then stripped and fitted around trading hours in a hard-wearing Austex Studio Encore commercial vinyl in Coffee Bean. The club never closed a session for it.

Project · Australian-made bed

Fifteen years on, still worth keeping: an Australian-made bed, reworked to last

After

This bed was quality Australian-made, about fifteen years old, beautifully built, and nothing wrong with it. The owners had simply bought a new mattress a touch larger than the old one, and could no longer make the bed or change the sheets easily. The easy fix was to cut the footboard down. But a bed made this well deserves better than a rough chop, so we went out, worked out a proper solution with the customer, and reworked the foot so the lines still flowed and matched the bed head. Done right, it looks like it left the factory that way. It took longer. That's the point of buying Australian-made in the first place, and the customer was thrilled.

Project · Zubar, Ringwood

Custom banquettes for a fit-out with nothing off the shelf

Part of the venue was being fitted out new and nothing off the shelf suited the space, so the banquette seating was made to measure. Their fit-out lead had a good eye and chose an Austex embossed vinyl, which we top stitched all the way round. The stitching is what carries a job like this, because across a long plain run of vinyl there is otherwise nowhere for the eye to rest.

Project · Grand Hotel, Warrandyte

A bar refresh, and the broken seats put right

A run of bar stools and drop in seats refreshed, and several banquette seats that had broken through were repaired rather than replaced. Straightforward work, and the kind that keeps a room looking cared for without needing a fit-out budget to do it.

Project · Advance Fitness

Gym equipment recovered in their own colours

Every upholstered pad and bench recovered in the club's corporate colours. Gym vinyl takes sweat, cleaning product and constant contact, so the material specification matters more here than in almost any other setting, and a domestic grade cover would not last the year.

Project · 6 Degrees South

A full equipment recover to match a new interior

The interior was being redone, so all of the equipment was recovered in black to sit with it. Doing a room in one pass is what makes it read as genuinely new, because a single tired pad among fresh ones is exactly the thing people notice.

Project · Anytime Fitness, Doncaster & Mt Waverley

Two clubs, equipment recovered across both

Gym equipment recovery across the Doncaster and Mt Waverley clubs. Recovering pads and benches costs a fraction of replacing the equipment, and the frames and mechanisms underneath are almost always still sound long after the covers have gone.

Project · Back in Motion, Eltham

Treatment beds and studio equipment, brought back fresh

Treatment beds along with the gym and pilates equipment, all recovered so the practice read as fresh throughout. Clinical rooms need a wipe clean surface that stands up to daily cleaning product, and the covers are almost always what dates a treatment space first.
