Furniture repairs,
done properly

Dylberry Design repairs tired and broken furniture across Melbourne from our Eltham workshop: rewebbing, respringing, new foam, sagging seats, wobbly frames and worn cushions. With a full in-house team, a machinist, an upholsterer and a restorer under one roof, we can repair almost any piece of furniture, not just lounges. Most pieces are worth saving, and a repair costs a fraction of buying new. Send a photo of the problem and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth fixing, and what it will cost.

What we fix

Last updated: July 2026

A sunken, saggy lounge usually is not worn out, it just needs the support rebuilt. We bring the comfort and shape back, for a lot less than replacing it.

Repairs we do

Rewebbing, respringing & more

If the frame is sound, most furniture is well worth repairing. Here is what we fix most.

Rewebbing

New webbing to stop the seat sinking and give firm, even support.

Respringing

Broken, sagging or noisy springs replaced and hand-tied properly.

Foam replacement

Flat, crumbling foam swapped for genuine fire-grade foam at the right density.

Frame repairs

Loose joints, cracks and wobbles re-glued, dowelled and reinforced.

Cushion refills

Tired cushions restuffed or refilled to sit plump and even again.

Recliner mechanisms

Worn recliner actions repaired and cushioning restored.

Repair questions

Can you fix a sagging sofa?

Almost always, yes. A sagging seat usually means the webbing or springs have gone, not that the sofa is worn out. We rebuild the support with new webbing and springs so it sits firm and even again.

What is rewebbing and respringing?

Rewebbing replaces the woven support straps under the seat; respringing replaces or re-ties the springs. Both are what hold your shape and comfort. When they fail the seat sinks, and rebuilding them is a straightforward, cost-effective fix.

Is it cheaper to repair or replace?

Usually much cheaper to repair, if the frame is sound. Rebuilding the support and foam of a good piece costs a fraction of buying new furniture of the same quality, and keeps a piece you like.

Do you replace foam and cushions?

Yes. We replace flat or crumbling foam with genuine fire-grade foam at the right density, and refill or restuff tired cushions so they sit plump and even.
