King Living Sofa Repair & Reupholstery Melbourne

Dylberry Design repairs and reupholsters King Living furniture across Melbourne, independently and out of warranty. We take on the full range: rebuilding sagging seats, adding or replacing foam, making custom covers in fabrics King Living does not offer, servicing and replacing mechanisms, and repairing frames. Sagging seats are the common one, and we rebuild them to match how the piece was originally built, using a feather and fibre mix, foam wrapped in Dacron, or a feather-wrap insert, so the seat feels right again rather than just firm. Send a photo of your King Living piece and the problem and we will tell you honestly what it needs and what it will cost.

What We Fix on King Living Furniture

We have repaired King Living pieces for years and take on the full range, not just one type of job. King Living builds well-made, long-lasting modular furniture, which is exactly why it is worth repairing rather than replacing when something wears or you want a change.

Sagging King Living Seats: How We Rebuild Them

A King Living seat that has gone soft or flat is the job we see most, and it is very fixable. The frame and structure are usually still sound; it is the cushion fill that has fatigued. We rebuild the seat to match how your particular piece was originally made, because King Living uses different cushion constructions across its range and a one-size fix feels wrong.

The three ways we rebuild a King Living seat

Matching the rebuild to the original construction is what makes the seat feel right again, not just firmer. We will tell you which of the three suits your piece once we see it. There is more on cushion rebuilds on our cushion refoaming and foam guide pages.

Custom Covers in Any Fabric, Including Colours King Living Does Not Offer

Let us be straight with you first: if you just want a standard, like-for-like replacement cover, buying direct from King Living is almost always cheaper, and we will tell you so. Where we come in is custom work. As an independent workshop we can make covers in any fabric or leather you like, not only the range King Living offers, so if you have always wanted your King Living lounge in a fabric, colour or leather that is not on their list, we can do it.

So the reason to come to us for covers is the fabric or the finish, not the price: a look King Living does not sell, a bespoke result, or a recover done at the same time as a seat rebuild or repair. We recover full pieces and individual sections, match across a modular set, and help you choose a fabric that suits how the piece is used. If you are weighing leather against vinyl, our leather vs vinyl guide explains the trade-offs, and our fabric guide covers durability and rub counts.

Mechanisms, Frames and Modular Sections

King Living is known for its modular and multi-function designs, and over years of use the moving and connecting parts can wear. We service and replace worn mechanisms on sofa-beds and motion pieces, and repair frames and modular sections so everything sits square and connects the way it should. If a mechanism has failed or a section no longer sits right, it is usually a repair rather than a write-off.

Independent, and Out of Warranty

Many King Living pieces come to us because the warranty has run out, or because the owner wants an option beyond the manufacturer. We are an independent workshop, not affiliated with King Living, which is exactly why we can rebuild seats to your preferred feel and recover in fabrics outside their range. For a piece still under warranty, it is worth checking with King Living first; once you are out of warranty, an independent repair keeps a good piece going for many more years, usually for a fraction of replacing it.

Why King Living Pieces Are Worth Repairing

King Living furniture is built to last, with solid frames and a modular design meant to be reconfigured and kept for the long term. That is what makes it worth repairing: the bones are good, so rebuilding the seats or recovering the piece restores it to better than its worn state for far less than buying new. We see King Living lounges given a second life this way all the time, and the owners keep a piece they already like rather than starting over.
