Natuzzi Sofa Repair & Reupholstery Melbourne

We repair and reupholster Natuzzi lounges right across Melbourne, in or out of warranty. Sagging seats, worn or scratched leather, tired foam, a recliner action that has stopped behaving, or a full recover, whatever has gone wrong with your Natuzzi, send us a photo and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth fixing. It usually is, because a Natuzzi is built to last far longer than one set of cushions.

We are a family upholstery and furniture-restoration workshop in Eltham North, servicing all of Melbourne, and repairs on quality brands like Natuzzi are a large part of what we do. This page covers what tends to go wrong on a Natuzzi, how we fix it, and a real job we recently brought back to life.

Natuzzi lounges are built to be repaired

Natuzzi is an Italian maker known for leather lounges built on solid hardwood frames, with proper foam and webbing under the cushions. That build quality is exactly why repairing one is nearly always better value than replacing it: the expensive part, the frame, is usually still sound long after the comfort has gone. A good Natuzzi will happily outlive two or three sets of foam and webbing, so rebuilding the seating is money well spent rather than throwing good after bad. If you are weighing it up, our guide on whether reupholstering is worth it walks through the honest test.

Common Natuzzi problems we fix

After years of daily use, the same handful of things tend to go on a Natuzzi, and we repair all of them:

A real Natuzzi we brought back

A recent job says it best. A customer brought us a red leather Natuzzi lounge, about twenty years old and much loved, but the seats and backs had sagged badly over the years and the family dog had left its mark on the leather. Rather than spend thousands replacing a piece they still loved, they asked whether it could be saved. We rewebbed the seats and backs, added new high-density foam to bring the support and the shape back, and touched up the scratches in the leather. The lounge sits and looks the way it should again, and the customer was delighted to keep a well-made, expensive piece rather than start over. That is the Natuzzi story in a nutshell: the bones are good, so the comfort and finish can be renewed for a fraction of replacing it.

What the owner said

The customer left this on our Google profile afterwards. It is reproduced word for word.

“Dylan did a great job reviving my over 20 year old Natuzzi leather couch that had sunken areas and scratches. He pulled the whole couch apart and replaced webbing and foam throughout and sourced suitable ‘paint’ to repair scratched areas. I was kept informed during the repair process and the couch was returned promptly looking like it had just come out of the showroom. I’m grateful to Dylan for extending the life of my much loved couch.”

How we repair a Natuzzi

Every job starts with an honest, frame-first look. If the frame is sound, and on a Natuzzi it usually is, we rebuild from there: fresh webbing where the old has stretched, high-resilience foam to restore support and shape, and leather work that ranges from cleaning and recolouring through to recovering a panel or the whole piece in a matching leather or fabric. We tell you plainly when a touch-up will do and when a full recover is the honest answer, so you are never paying for more than the piece needs.

In or out of warranty

A lot of Natuzzi repairs come to us because the warranty has run out, or it never covered wear, sagging or accidental damage in the first place. That is exactly where an independent workshop helps: we are not trying to sell you a new lounge, we just fix the one you have. Most repairs cost far less than replacing a Natuzzi with something of the same quality, and you keep the piece you already chose.

How it works

Send us a photo of the lounge and the problem, along with your suburb. We give you a clear written quote, usually within 24 hours, with no obligation. Some smaller repairs we can do on-site at your home. Larger jobs come back to our Eltham North workshop where we have the machinery to do them properly. A call-out fee applies for site visits, and we will work out the easiest way to get your lounge to us and back.

Questions

Who repairs Natuzzi sofas in Melbourne?

We do. Dylberry Design is an independent upholstery and furniture-repair workshop in Eltham North, servicing all of Melbourne. We re-web and re-foam sagging Natuzzi seats, repair and recolour worn or scratched leather, and recover Natuzzi lounges in matching leather or fabric. Send a photo for an honest, no-obligation answer.

Is it worth repairing a twenty-year-old Natuzzi?

Usually yes. A Natuzzi is built on a solid hardwood frame, which is the expensive part, and that is normally still sound after twenty years. Renewing the webbing, foam and leather brings the comfort and finish back for a fraction of replacing the whole lounge, as we did recently on a much-loved red Natuzzi.

Can you fix sagging Natuzzi seat and back cushions?

Yes. Sagging is one of the most common Natuzzi jobs we do. It is caused by the webbing and foam tiring over the years, and we replace both so the seats and backs support you properly again rather than letting you sink.

Do you repair scratched or worn Natuzzi leather?

Yes. Depending on the damage we clean, repair and recolour the leather, or recover the affected panels in a matching hide. Pet scratches, scuffs and sun-fade are all things we deal with regularly.

My Natuzzi is out of warranty. Can you still help?

Almost always. Out-of-warranty work is a large part of what we do, and it is often where the manufacturer or retailer stops being much help. As an independent workshop we simply repair the lounge you have.

How do I get a price?

Send us a photo of your Natuzzi and the problem, along with your suburb. We give you a clear written quote, usually within 24 hours, with no obligation.

How long will a Natuzzi repair take?

Cushion interiors and foam are relatively quick once the piece reaches the bench. Leather panel replacement depends on getting hides that work with the existing colour, and that is usually what sets the date. Frame repairs need curing time that cannot be shortened. If the piece is being fully recovered, a sofa is generally about a couple of weeks once the material is on hand. We tell you the expected timeframe with the quote and we tell you if the strip changes it.

Do you pick up and deliver?

Yes. Full size lounges and sofas go on proper transport, arranged by us, with the cost written into the quote from the start. Smaller pieces and single chairs close to the workshop we generally collect and return ourselves and do not charge separately for it. Let us know when you send photos if there is a turn in the stairs, a narrow hall or a first floor room involved.
