We recover and rebuild lounge suites, armchairs, dining chairs, bedheads and window seat cushions. Covers come off, the frame gets checked and repaired, springs are retied where they need it, and new Dunlop HR35 foam goes back in so the seat holds its shape. Frame work carries our thirty year guarantee. Three of us do the work, a father and son and our machinist, with close to a hundred years of trade between us.

A lot of the seating we collect here is the same age as the house it sits in, from the late sixties through to the eighties, and a good share of it is modular. Five and six piece corner units with a chaise on one end were what filled those wide family rooms. Modulars are handled differently on the bench to a standard three seater. Each section is stripped, rebuilt and recovered as its own piece, then checked against the others for height and firmness so the run still reads as one lounge when it goes back together. It also means a single section that has taken the brunt can be brought back to match the rest, rather than the whole run going out the door.

Yes, regularly. Viewbank is one of our steady areas, along with neighbouring Rosanna and Macleod. We cover the whole suburb, from the Banyule Road boundary we share with Rosanna across to the Plenty River side, and down to the streets sitting above Banyule Flats. We collect and deliver ourselves rather than sending furniture out with a courier.
Yes, and it is a job that comes up a fair bit around here. Long bench cushions have to be templated off the actual timber rather than measured with a tape, because those seats are rarely square and the wall behind them almost never is. We cut a pattern on site, build the cushion in Dunlop HR35 so it does not flatten in the middle where everybody sits, and finish the ends so the shape holds. Scatter cushions in the same fabric are easy to add while the roll is open.
