What we do
Whether it's a new fit-out or a venue due for a refresh, we recover, repair or make it new, in whatever fabric the job calls for.
Made to your drawings, modular, hard-wearing and built to survive a busy venue.
Venues refresh every few years, we recover existing seating for a fraction of replacing it.
Café and restaurant booths, backs and bases, built and finished properly.
Heavy-use seating for pubs, clubs and function spaces.
Retail and foyer ottomans, stools and feature pieces, upholstered to match.
Upholstered wall panels, feature walls and point-of-sale display, made to drawings.
A reliable subcontractor who hits deadlines and makes you look good to your client.
We build to spec, match fabrics exactly, and stay behind the scenes.
Why the trade uses us
Finishes
The finish is what separates a good fit-out from a cheap one. We do the detailed work by hand, to your spec.
Classic buttoned backs and bases, set out evenly and pulled tight.
Crisp vertical fluting for banquette backs and bar fronts.
Single, double, cross and contrast stitching to match the design intent.
Clean seams, piped edges and panelled sections that line up every time.
Sectors we work across
If it gets sat on all day, we've probably recovered or built one. We work behind the trade across Melbourne's commercial sectors.
Cafés, restaurants, pubs, clubs, hotels and function venues.
Shopfits, showrooms, ottomans and point-of-sale display.
Waiting rooms, clinics and day-beds in wipe-clean, healthcare-grade materials.
Offices, foyers, universities and campus breakout seating.
How it works
Drawings, photos or a site measure, plus fabric and timeline. We'll quote it.
Made in our Eltham workshop to spec, in the fabric you've chosen.
Ready to install (or installed), so your fit-out or venue isn't held up.
Good to know
Yes, that's our bread and butter. We stay behind the scenes, build to your spec, hit your deadline, and you keep the client relationship.
Both, we build new banquette and booth seating to your drawings, and recover or repair existing seating when a venue's due for a refresh.
Yes. We use genuine fire-grade foam and commercial-grade fabric and vinyl, and we'll meet whatever compliance your project requires.
Yes, deep and diamond buttoning, fluting, cross and contrast stitching, piping and panel work, all done by hand to your drawings.
Hospitality, retail, healthcare, corporate and education, cafés, restaurants, pubs, hotels, shopfits, clinics, offices and campuses.
It depends on size and fabric lead time, but when a job's pre-booked we work to your install date and keep the fit-out moving.
All of Melbourne, from our Eltham workshop.
Commercial seating needs a contract or commercial-grade fabric built for heavy daily use and easier cleaning, rather than a residential fabric that will wear quickly. We help you choose a hard-wearing option that suits your venue's look and your cleaning routine.
Rub count, often measured on the Martindale scale, indicates how much abrasion a fabric can take before it shows wear, which is why commercial venues specify far higher ratings than a home lounge. We steer you toward fabrics rated for the traffic your venue actually gets.
Yes, we use fire-grade foam and specify densities suited to constant use so the seating holds its shape and comfort under a full day of customers. Getting the foam right is what stops banquettes going flat within a season.
In most cases the existing frames are perfectly sound and reupholstering them is faster and more cost-effective than buying new. We can also refresh the foam at the same time so the seating feels as good as it looks.
We plan commercial jobs around your service so disruption is kept to a minimum, whether that means staged sections or a quick turnaround off-site. Send photos and layout details and we will scope a schedule that works for the venue.
Yes, we build and upholster seating to fit the room rather than forcing a standard size into it, including corners and non-standard runs. Share your measurements and we will work out what suits the space.
Recent commercial job
A long banquette in the bistro at the Veneto Club had done years of service and the vinyl had worn through, cracked and started peeling along the seat. The club did not want the seating out of action, so we worked around their trading hours.
We came out to the club, measured the banquette on site and took a pattern. The new cover was cut and sewn back at our workshop in a hard-wearing Austex Studio Encore commercial vinyl in Coffee Bean. Then we returned early one morning before service, stripped the old cover and fitted the new one on site. The seating was back in use for their next service, and the club never closed a session for it.

Before: the old vinyl worn through and peeling, new cover ready to go.

During: stripped back on site, ready for the new cover.

After: new commercial vinyl fitted, tables set and back in service.
The job in 13 seconds.
That is the pattern for most of our venue work: measure on site, make everything in the workshop, then strip and fit around your quiet hours so you keep trading. If your venue seating is getting tired, send us a photo and we will have a look.
More commercial seating
We build and recover every kind of commercial seating across Melbourne.
Recent work
When part of the venue was fitted out, there was no off the shelf banquette that worked in the space, so the seating was made to measure instead. Their fit-out lead selected an Austex embossed vinyl and we top stitched the whole run. On a banquette that length the stitch line is doing real work, because it gives the eye something to follow instead of a flat expanse of vinyl.
